Workforce Preparation and Human Resources
Integrating individuals into the workforce creates new challenges in human resource management. Individuals who were once recipients of services are now considered employees and, as employees, are entitled to receive the same benefits as other employees. If individuals are employed as apprentices or interns, the development and implementation of new policies and guidelines are often necessary.
The resources provided here offer information about integrating former recipients of service into the workforce and include links to Department of Labor (DOL) and Office of Disability Employment Policy (ODEP) resources on workforce development and human resource management policies. These links offer a valuable way to remain current with new initiatives and policy changes on the Federal level.
Individuals who enter competitive employment or who become paid apprentices or interns will also be confronted with the challenges of managing their benefits effectively. For this reason, resources and information about benefits management are also provided here.
